"The Silent Years" || ELLERY SPRING 2012

Ellery presents "The Silent Years" for Spring 2012, dominated by earthy tones of pink, taupe and almond, mixed back with soft and muted metallics. The collection was ultimately inspired by 1970's cults, sects and secret societies, however designer Kym Ellery took it one step further by looking to the "ritualistic behaviour of mislead cult members." The lines and silhouettes are long and lean including long trouser styles and slim pencil skirts but also an unexpected addition of heavy woollen coats and bomber jackets.
Here are some of my favourite picks from the collection, hope you enjoy them as much as me!

París Era Una Fiesta

You know those days, where you just have random thoughts and the more and more you think about it the more kind of weird it starts to sound? Well this exact thing happened to me yesterday, I was looking at a photo and got thinking about the saying, 'a picture speaks a thousand words' but the more and more I thought about it the weirder it sounded. Funnily enough on my daily surf (on the internet that is) I happened to find myself of the Spanish Vogue website, which by the way is written all in Spanish, except for the odd photo caption here or there where you see the name 'Karlie Kloss' written and you almost think there is a sign of hope that you will start to understand more as you click throughout the site, but I'm sorry to break it to you, that is just about as far as I got...which brings me to the point of my story.
I clicked on a word that sounded super cool in Spanish, which led me to a page where the Paris Fashion shows' street style snaps were located (right now your probably thinking, seriously...more street style, but I promise this is worth it) and as I started to scroll through the photos it made me realise how a picture really can speak a thousand words, because although i couldn't understand anything the website was telling me the pictures in themselves were enough. So, today instead of the usual tommy ton style street snaps I want to show you some of the amazing snaps taken literally and directly right off the streets of Paris. Hope you enjoy these gorgeous shots as much as I did!

The European Situation

I will say what I say time after time, again...amazing! The European fashion and street style around the time of mens and haute couture shows, actually any sort of fashion show, always manages to impress me more and more each time. This time being that its Summer in Europe excites me even more because the fashion is so bright, bold and beautiful, not to mention the fabulous accessories along with it! I have selected some of my favourite snaps (some, meaning many) to not only show you the amazing streetstyle fashion is but to give you some ideas of things that may be h-o-t for summer! Ill let the pictures do the rest of the talking but I just can't go past not mentioning the Giuseppe's, I know they are old news now but they are amaze!

Christian Dior || Fall Couture 2012

Christian Dior Fall Couture 2012, or what I like to call an amazingly elegant opening to the Paris Haute Couture fashion shows. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the term Haute Couture, (even I was surprised when I looked it up) it is an artisan based method of making clothes that dates back over 150 years. The highly expensive garments are bought by a core group of no more than 100 rich women around the world. Wow!
This collection showed it certainly was a new day at Dior as it was Raf Simons' debut of the collection, but he certainly did not disappoint. Opening with a series of crisp tuxedo suiting, that was appropriately glamourous the show moved on to a clear juxtaposition of meticulous separates paired with decorative peplum tops. The overall clean direction Simons had intended was evident in the symmetrically placed bead work which often resembled a grid and the confident nature and timeless appeal of the silhouettes.
