The Party Behind The Fashion

Today, as every other day I was scrolling through my newsfeed on Facebook, and began to notice how many pages (which I have liked) are filling up my feed. As much as I love liking pages so that I also keep up to date with their pages via FB, its actually a really bad thing for me because it keeps me distracted for even longer...because i click the photo, follow the link and there you go half an hour has passed! However, as much as I go on about how much I hate it, I do admitingly love it because I find new sites, photos, blogs pages of inspiration but most importantly something I can share with you! Today I happened to find myself on the fashion bible's website (Vogue) and was browsing through the galleries of photos from previous fashion week parties and other fashion parties, when I came across some photos which I loved! These are a collection from some of the (lets call them fashion parties), but these caught my eye in particular because they are so glamorous its almost like they are not real! So I've decided to share my favourite ones with you, pay close attention to the table setting detail, place cards and party guests. Ahh these photos are getting me excited for whats to come at NY fashion week...stay tuned! XX BMH

New Noir

Goodmorning!
I came across this gorgeous editorial yesterday whilst scrolling through pages and pages of fashion images looking for more inspiration for my semester two design project. I definitely thought I should share it with you lovelies because the garments, the styling, the hair and makeup and the model are all just so amazing! Even though these photos are the complete opposite of what my concept is for my design project, I am so inspired and I hope you are also!

Love That Look || Denim and Neon

So, you have probably figured out why I haven't posted in what feels like a while to me, but...in case you haven't, yes college has begun again for the semester and my schedule is getting very busy again. So with all my trend and inspiration research I came across this combination of denim and neon which is very much on trend at the moment and thought I would share this gorgeous outfit with you just for a little bit of inspiration.  The images position former model Elena Perminova who definitely knows how to attract the street style photographers: piecing together highly original, bright looks. Once again head-to-toe in covetable designer pieces, Elena wowed in neon sunglasses which coordinated with a beaded multi-row neon yellow necklace and bright bandeau top. The Russian beauty wore the statement pieces with a denim dress that featured ripped shoulder cut-outs and a plunging neckline. Completing the outfit with black studded flats, Elena mixes together neon and denim with great attention to detail.

Style Stalking || Joanna Hillman

Good afternoon lovelies! I have recently been researching and looking at some other super stylish fashion and style icons other than my favourite ones like Olivia Palermo and Mira Duma (who I'm only slightly obsessed with), and came across the Senior Fashion Market Editor of Harper's Bazaar US Joanna Hillman, who is regularly snapped showing off her unique take on current pieces. Her style is bold and elegant as she mixes high end fashion such as Balenciaga and Miu Miu with high street finds from stores such as Zara. Along with a modern mix of fashion finds and attention to detail in the accessories department, Joanna still manages to set a signature element to her style, being bold black shades, a red lip and straight hair. Here are some of my favourite looks by Joanna to date, I hope they can inspire you to create your own signature style. XX BMH

"The Silent Years" || ELLERY SPRING 2012

Ellery presents "The Silent Years" for Spring 2012, dominated by earthy tones of pink, taupe and almond, mixed back with soft and muted metallics. The collection was ultimately inspired by 1970's cults, sects and secret societies, however designer Kym Ellery took it one step further by looking to the "ritualistic behaviour of mislead cult members." The lines and silhouettes are long and lean including long trouser styles and slim pencil skirts but also an unexpected addition of heavy woollen coats and bomber jackets.
Here are some of my favourite picks from the collection, hope you enjoy them as much as me!

ParĂs Era Una Fiesta

You know those days, where you just have random thoughts and the more and more you think about it the more kind of weird it starts to sound? Well this exact thing happened to me yesterday, I was looking at a photo and got thinking about the saying, 'a picture speaks a thousand words' but the more and more I thought about it the weirder it sounded. Funnily enough on my daily surf (on the internet that is) I happened to find myself of the Spanish Vogue website, which by the way is written all in Spanish, except for the odd photo caption here or there where you see the name 'Karlie Kloss' written and you almost think there is a sign of hope that you will start to understand more as you click throughout the site, but I'm sorry to break it to you, that is just about as far as I got...which brings me to the point of my story.
I clicked on a word that sounded super cool in Spanish, which led me to a page where the Paris Fashion shows' street style snaps were located (right now your probably thinking, seriously...more street style, but I promise this is worth it) and as I started to scroll through the photos it made me realise how a picture really can speak a thousand words, because although i couldn't understand anything the website was telling me the pictures in themselves were enough. So, today instead of the usual tommy ton style street snaps I want to show you some of the amazing snaps taken literally and directly right off the streets of Paris. Hope you enjoy these gorgeous shots as much as I did!
