MBFW Day 3 || ALICE MCCALL

Here's something you probably didn't know, I am a huge fan of babushka dolls hence why I love the inspiration behind Alice McCall's SS12/13 collection from MBFW where she looked to Russian babushka dolls and folkish and futuristic architecture and fashion for inspiration. The collection included fit and flare silhouettes and features such as floral motifs, cotton voile lace, scalloped edging and architectural and floral digital prints. The collection's key colours included tangerine, nude, white, pale pink, red and powder blue and highlighted several trends such as graphic prints, sheers and peplums. If you ask me I think this is such a cute collection that is very Alice McCall and with the styling, accessories and especially makeup I think she did a great job of portraying the babushka doll. In the photos I have included some of my favourite looks from the show but also the mood board showing the inspiration behind the collection.
